When I do a on- line search on your company along with vast majority of more than 200 + very positive reports and content on Home Installation Professionals why do I get one very old not so positive write up on your company?

The old adage goes you cant make everyone happy all the time no matter how hard you try.  We at Home Installation Professionals are happy and proud of our out 99.9% success rate in exceeding our customer expectations since 1975.

Bottom line this negative on line report is false in all ways. When the recession started in late 2008 for the first time since 1975 we, along with most other builders, had a very rough year that included major problems with suppliers, sub contractors, bank credit lines and much more, coupled with personal financial challenges the failing economy caused our staff, sub contractors and company management that most everyone including and especially builders and all related industries experienced and are still experiencing worldwide. In 2008, out of 15 customers we had a few very impossible customers from Highland Park and Barrington that refused to work with us through this new economic mess and then demanded allot more than our agreements with them called for. Nothing our team did to try and satisfy these folks did satisfy them and they continued to be impossible and unfairly demanding in all ways. Simply ask our independent subcontractors and suppliers they didn't pay for materials delivered or work done at their house. Many, many times our independent subcontractors were called to their house to do work that was never contracted for or called out in the plans that the customer demanded and expected to be free, our independent trades will be glad to tell you all about these folks. All of our other customers did work with us at the time. When you Google (and only Google, no other search engine indexes them- they know better) you will find a negative write up from two of these totally impossible old customers (who knew each other and worked together on this false report) from projects in 2008 that we finished with totally false claims and statements made on a convicted felons and extortionist web site Ripoff.com, more information on this below. Since 2008 we have been determined the economy would not do us in, as it has so many others and we have successfully made major structural changes in the way we do business in this economy, put in place performance bonds and contractor paid title escrow services where our vendors and subs are paid in small performance based payments, not by us, but by a professional construction coordinator through Chicago Title company, protecting our customers every step of the way with the highest level of protection available to them as well as many other successful improvements. We now have our usual, issue free, totally satisfied 50+ (and growing everyday) major remolding and design build customers since these impossible customers in 2008 that represent far less than 1% of our total customer base, along with our many thousands of great customers since 1975, ALL of whom would be glad to show you our work and talk to you in detail about their projects, the unbeatable value and highly skilled professional work they received from the Home Installation Professionals team.    One of the on line sites these few elected to use was a site called Rip office. A site that doesn’t verify anything posted on it, doesn’t take it off when proven to be false and is run by a convicted Felon named Ed Magedson (Google him- click here) who after posting this content extorts big money from those victimized on his site by his “reputation repair program”. Everything negative posted on this site about us from two impossible customers (who knew each other) from 2008 projects is completely and verifiably false in all ways and can be proven in multiple ways to be false, one of the many ways to prove what these reports are saying is false is to just talk to our staff of licensed independent trade professionals (who these impossible customers from 2008 demanded free work over and above the contract or drawings over and over again) and suppliers (who they didn't pay). Also ask our suppliers about these impossible customers. Ripp Off. Com and its owner Ed Magedson have hundreds of law suits filed against them for false reporting, extortion and much more. Try searching our business name in any other search engine,  Microsoft MSN, Yahoo, Web Crawler and all others (except AOL search because they use Google), this false fabricated report will be very hard to find on these search engines if at all because all the other search engines know who they are dealing with Magedson and do not rate or rank him or his site, it is only ranked highly on Google.

    These same few folks from back in 2008 posted a few negative write ups up on Angies List that again were verifiably false in all ways. Have you ever looked at the Angies List book delivered to you every Month? Its 95% percent paid advertising, it should be 100% consumer help related since those receiving it are paid members . They are NOT consumer advocates; they are a very large advertising agency. They not only charge their “members” up front to search their database, but then charge service companies 500 to 1000 dollars a month to be able to be found by the paying members. So the service companies are all paying to be found by members. So when you find a company on Angies list they paid to be found by you. Angie’s list is dealing from both ends, a complete conflict of interest. They were charging us over $500 a Month to be searchable on their site. We and many others find this to be a major conflict of interest and we de-listed ourselves from Angies List and asked them to take us off their data base because we didn’t want to continue paying them $500 and more (depending on what advertising they are doing for you) a month. They did not like that at all and tried very hard to get us to pay for another year, which would have been over $6.000. We have several trades that also used their services ( and know many more), one was paying over 600 a month’s to be searchable on their data base as did our electrician, both will be discontinuing their service with Angies List as well because they to find it a complete conflict of interest as do many, many thousands of others.  They are nothing but a huge ad agency disguised as consumer advocates who present as being out after your “best interests”. Make no mistake they are out for their best interests. They are there to make as much money as they possibly can from all parties, bottom line. By the way when we were affiliated with them we earned many, many more Angies list straight A ratings in every category (19) from our great customers from major remodeling projects, than the few negative false reports on there from impossible people from back in 2007- 2008. We even earned the "coveted" "Super Service Award" for having so many straight A ratings  and multiple listing on the "Page of Happiness" from most of our great customers,( we have all the Super service Awards available if anyone would like to see them)    In fact our most recent Angies list rating was a straight a rating in every category from a large multi dimensional renovation and master suite addition project done in 2009- 2010 from another one of our great customers in Ingleside. After that, because of the Angies List business model we stopped encouraging our customers to honestly rate us on Angies list and pulled our advertising with them. If we had continued to encourage our customers to rate us on Angies List we would have an added 50+ straight A ratings in every category over the past two years, we choose not to. Anyone can say this, the way to tell if this is true is to call or email our recent references, come and meet them and see our work. This is a much better way to tell  if Home Installation Professionals is the team that is the best fit for you rather than reading a few unverified, false, anonymous lines online, not seeing our workmanship, and not getting all sides and the whole picture.

     We wont go back, but Angies List is trying to get us back (they have emailed us many times- they want our advertising dollars) and they are using us to try and sell new memberships to you. Here is a "advertisement" they have on the internet right now assuming you will stumble across it and want to pay them to see our old ratings, that stopped when we disaffiliated ourselves from their service back in very early 2009. They make it appear as if we wrote it but Angies List did. On this advertisement they have our address wrong as are the towns we service but they are correct about everything else regarding our restructuring and title escrow use, they are correct about the Home Installation Professionals 19 perfect customer reviews in all categories on major remodeling projects and the the effects of the recession had on us and many others and they even attempt to say some nice things about us I'm sure because they want us back paying advertising with them. It is NOT correct that we are offering further discounts under our already unbeatable prices and values for Angies List Members as they say on this ad (another attempt to get you to become a paying member) Don't bother paying them, we will send you all the complete Angies List ratings, all the good and a few not so good from a few old impossible 2008 customers for free plus we will give you the customer names, actual phone numbers and contact information which Angies List wont. Most of them ( except for the very few impossible customers) are on our great customer reference list anyway. It is by far better to actually talk in person if possible to our recent great customers including 50+ totally satisfied customers since these few totally impossible customers from back in 2008, and 99.9% of our past customers, see our actual work and get the WHOLE picture, then to read a few unverified lines on the internet from anonymous old 2008 impossible customers. Regardless of how hard you try, and we did try in everyway possible way to make these few impossible people happy. You wont find a builder or remodeler anywhere that has successfully been in business 5 or 30 years that has not had some impossible customers like these somewhere along the line and where all of their customers were 100% satisfied. As apposed to reading any on- line anonymous reviews, good or bad ,  please meet and talk, face to face with our many, many great customers while really looking closely at our work, ask them about the value they received, the quality of the material and skilled trades, and the whole design and build process with the Home Installation Professionals team. You cant get that from reading a few unverified lines online good or bad from anonymous writers, where most of the time you don't even have contact information of the writer, not knowing the whole story, not meeting with our clients in person or personally seeing our work during and after the project is completed, all of which is important in selecting the right team for your project.
